With over 5.8 million visitors in 2005 and occupancy rate in excess of 83% Dubai is fast becoming one of the world’s premier tourist destinations in the world with tourism business reaching unprecedented levels.

Dubai is a cosmopolitan city with a population over 1 million that offers a wonderful taste of Arabia, seamlessly combining some of the world’s most exciting tourists developments in a distinctive blend of modern city and desert. Where else can you spend a vacation that combines sand dunes and Middle East culture with stunning high rise hotels overlooking pristine beaches and the warm turquoise waters of the Persian Gulf?

Dubai is also a shopper’s paradise. The tiny emirate is a duty free zone and during its Shopping Festival, two million visitors arrive looking for discounts on gold, electronics, clothing, and Persian carpets.

Dubai has a subtropical arid climate and the weather is sunny pretty much all the year round Dubai has experienced a total of 4 days of rain in 2005!

Given all the above reasons and keeping aside many others, is clear that the travel industry hence the local accommodation providers are riding the biggest wave of their life in fact in many cases the request for holiday accommodation as taken over the supply and it’s not breaking news for frequent travelers to hear that the hotels are fully booked and capable of offering only the most expensive suites (whatever left available).

There is a wide choice of accommodation available in Dubai ranging from hotels, hotel apartments and private villas or apartments for more exclusive retreats. Renting an apartment might be a cheaper option then staying in a hotel especially if you intend staying in Dubai for longer then the usual package holiday or if you are a large group or simply wish to have greater flexibility and privacy, this latest option being the most sought after in recent days.

One of the most popular areas of Dubai is the Dubai Marina which creates an awe inspiring city within a city that delights residents with its cosmopolitan, free spirited atmosphere and unique, invigorating lifestyle. It is a urban center on the water, comparable to the most exclusive waterfront developments in the world’s leading cities. Dubai Marina is the place where people meet, laugh, live and enjoy life to the full, always alive,

with the glittering Marina at its heart.

Booking a Hotel in Dubai Marina is out of reach for many travelers who rather spend their budget on shopping and dining, for this reason renting a self catering apartment in the Dubai Marina itself or a self catering villa on the world famous Palm Island can be a much cheaper option, more affordable, comfortable and also more exciting.

There are many villas and apartments available for short term rental on self catering basis and can cater from a minimum of 1 guest to as much as 15 guests according to the number of bedrooms available.

When planning to book a holiday apartment or villa in Dubai on self catering basis it is necessary to carefully select the right real estate agent to deal with.

The most recommended would certainly be those actually based in Dubai that can guarantee you full assistance on a 24 hrs basis. It’s really the quality that matters when you choose your holiday home in Dubai, yes you could be spending some extra bucks but in the end it will pay off.

Some properties are equipped with every amenity, from the bread toaster to the kettle, from the coffee machine to the microwave and also include a twice weekly house keeping service, fresh towels, fresh bed sheets, miniature shampoo and shower gel etc. some other properties that come across as a good bargain could end up being a bad surprise to say the least and you might experience issues such as faulty air conditioning, lack of cutlery items or crockery or cooking pans or lack of water pressure, poor hygiene and the list can go on and on to a point where your vacation could get badly compromised.

Professional agencies maintain and check on the properties on regular basis in addition to supply amenities and accessories to a level that can meet and in some cases go beyond the standard of a 5 stars hotel. When booking a self catering apartment or villa there are few questions that you might want to ask such as:

How far and where is the nearest hospital? Does the property have a telephone line to make outgoing calls in case of emergency? Will you be awaited at your arrival in the early ours of the morning and will you be escorted and checked in your apartment by professional and English speaking staff? Will you find first hand groceries in the fridge at your arrival? How far is the closest supermarket? How far is the closest pharmacy? How far is the closest restaurant or coffee shop? Are the bills included in the rent? Is there a house keeping service provided? Is there a maintenance number that you could call in case it was required? Will you be able to receive international calls from your loved ones? How far is the beach? How far is the closest mall? Is the area fully developed or is it still under construction? How noisy or quite is it and do the windows have double glazing to serve this purpose? Are taxis easily available? Etc etc.

In the end it all comes to experience and professionalism

There are many companies over the internet offering holiday villas around the world which is a great advantage as it keeps the competition alive and the rates affordable however be always careful and do your homework before making your final choice, at the end of the day it’s your holiday on the line.

timberland boots womens Ed Markey says just 1 Republican vote needed in Senate effort to overturn FCC ruling

Senate Democrats announced Tuesday that although they have enough support to force a vote to reverse the Federal Communications Commission’s repeal of Obama era internet regulations, they need the backing of just one more chamber Republican to help restore so called net neutrality rules. Sen. Sens. Sen. Susan Collins, R Maine, have come out in support of his Congressional Review Act resolution to overturn the FCC’s controversial ruling putting the effort just one member shy of Senate approval.

Contending that the FCC’s ruling “turned a deaf ear to millions of Americans” who supported the Obama administration’s net neutrality rules, the Massachusetts Democrat stressed that such a resolution is needed to protect internet access and ensure a level playing field.

Markey added that “the FCC is in need of having the Senate act because this is an action that goes right to the heart of job creation in Massachusetts and across our country.”

“To be clear, there will be a vote on the floor of the United States Senate to restore net neutrality as the law of the land,” he said during a Boston news conference.

Under the CRA, which allows Congress to reverse federal agencies’ regulatory actions, just 30 senators are needed to force a floor vote on a resolution of disapproval.

Senate Democrats will formally introduce their resolution after the FCC rule is submitted to Congress and published in the federal register. They will force a vote within 60 legislative days, Markey’s office said. Rep. Mike Doyle, D Pennsylvania, plans to introduce a similar resolution in the House.

Resolutions under the act must receive a simple majority vote in both the House and Senate before an agencies’ regulatory actions can be overturned.

Markey said Senate Democrats will spend the coming months building grassroots support for the effort an issue which he noted millennials watching closely.

“They know the loss of net neutrality means a loss of control over the internet, which is oxygen to them,” he said. “We cannot let that happen. There will be a political price to pay for those who are on the wrong side of the internet’s history.”

Senate Democratic Leader Chuck Schumer added that his caucus is “committed to fighting to keep the internet from becoming the Wild West where (internet service providers) are free to offer premium service to only the wealthiest customers, while average consumers are left with far inferior options.”

“When we force a vote on this bill, Republicans in Congress will for the first time have the opportunity to right the administration’s wrong and show the American people whose side they’re on: big ISPs and major corporations or consumers, entrepreneurs, and small business owners,” he said in a statement.

FCC votes to repeal net neutrality rules for internet providers

The FCC approved the “Restoring Internet Freedom” proposal, which called for repealing Obama era standards that subjected internet providers to Title II utility style regulations, on a 3 to 2 vote during its Dec. 14 open meeting.

Supporters of the proposal said it was needed to address the “heavy handed, utility style regulation on internet service providers” the commission imposed in 2015 rules which they argued led to a drop in broadband investment and stifled innovation.

Opponents, however, have raised concerns that the commission’s decision could lead to internet service providers slowing down, blocking online traffic or setting up internet “fast lanes.”

“At first, I didn’t know whether to keep singing or if we should even put out the CD,” Montgomery said. “We had finished the CD two days before the accident. So it became, like, ‘Should we put this out?’ But we had had a talk, actually, about this awhile back. We agreed that if something should happen to one of us, we wanted Montgomery Gentry to keep going. So I talked to my band guys about it. Plus, I knew T Roy would be right there going, ‘Hey, man, keep this rocking.’ So we’re going to keep Montgomery Gentry rocking.”

“Here’s To You,” which is being released Friday, was partly designed to celebrate the duo’s 20th anniversary. But as any of their veteran Central Kentucky fans will remind you, the alliance between the two singers was forged long before they officially adopted the Montgomery Gentry name in 1998 and released their first collaborative album, “Tattoos Scars,” the following spring. The two teamed in the ’80s and eventually became bandmates of another Kentucky country hopeful Montgomery’s younger brother, John Michael Montgomery. Together the three were staples in Lexington clubs most prominently, the Austin City Saloon, before John Michael’s solo career took off with “Life’s a Dance” in 1992.

“Playing the Lexington honky tonks five or six nights a week, that was a great experience for us as far as knowing who we were and how we were able to talk to each other about different things,” Montgomery said. “We’ve seen a lot of stuff, man, playing six nights a week, whether someone was going in and getting loaded or someone was coming in who had lost somebody. We were with the working class people that were coming into the bars in Lexington, so we took stories from that for our records. We kind of grew up that way.

I’ve spent several days working on a particularly difficult chassis and learned something I thought I’d share. First, here is what I had to start with: A nice single chassis Super XII. The IF aligned beautifully, and the 3 SW bands also aligned “by the book”. The set sounded great on any SW band, AM was basically dead. There are only 3 things that are AM only, so I verified each coil. Hi Kent: I am working on a Shield Grid 9 now that is in very good shape. I have dismounted the SGA (shield grid assembly) because of low filament voltage on the three 22s max I can get is 2 volts with 5 volts on the entry bus. Taking that SGA off and opening it was much more of a chore than necessary because the designer apparently didn’t think it would ever be required. The paperwork discusses the short wave ability of the SG 9 and the need to change the coil in the 630 Antenna.
